このサイトについて
このサイトはPEPELT （Picturebooks in European Primary English Language Teachingつまり、ヨーロッパの小学校英語教育における絵本教育団体）から許可をもらって、日本の小学校の先生がPEPELTのミニレッスンを日本語に通訳し、英語が読めない小学校生にも使えるように作成しています。もとの英語ミニレッスンはPEPELT（https://pepelt21.com）で見ることができます。
ミニレッスンについて （PEPELTのゲイル先生とタチア先生より）
新型コロナウイルスによって多くの学校が休校している中、PEPELTがネットで「すぐに使える」英語絵本のミニレッスンを提供しています。子供たちは、自宅でお家の人と一緒にこのレッスンを受けることができます。オンライン授業や学校で勉強をしている方も使用できます。レッスンでは、絵本の作者・イラストレーター自身が絵本を読み聞かせる動画を使っています。その動画を見る前や、途中、後などで簡単な質問や活動を通して、絵本を楽しむことができます。このレッスンは英語を勉強している小学校生向きです。レッスンを通して子供たちは：
- 絵本と触れ合うことができます。
- 英語の能力（特に聞くこと）を高めることができます。
- 様々な面白い情報や事実を発見したり、調べたりすることができます。
- 作者と出会って、その方の話を聞くことが楽しめます。
「予測、行動、考える、パーソナライズ」などの動作を表す言葉（動詞）をたどることが簡単なので、学習がわかりやすく明確になります。 このレッスンでは、、クラスメートや教師と作業を共有しることや、学習への動機づけや協調性を高めること、学習者の仮想コミュニティを作成することを子供たちに促します。 私たちは、子供たちが楽しんで学べることを願っています。そして、このレッスンが、オンラインで英語を教えるために最善を尽くそうとしている小学校の英語教師を支援することを願っています。
About this site
This site, with permission from PEPELT （Picturebooks in European Primary English Language Teaching), will be producing Japanese translations of their mini picture book lessons in order to provide activities and materials for Japanese primary/elementary school students students who cannot read English as well as their parents and teachers.This site will only be providing the Japanese translations of the lessons. About the Mini Lessons (Explanation from the PEPELT website)
With many schools closed because of Covid-19, we are providing ‘ready-to-go’ Mini Picturebook e-Lessons. These are lessons for children to complete with teachers and/or parents (carers) at home. They can also be used by teachers of key worker children learning in a classroom context. The lessons provide simple guidelines for children to watch and listen to a picturebook being read aloud by the author/illustrator themselves. The lessons are suitable for primary English language learners (ESL, EFL, EAL) and children will be able to:
- engage with picturebooks
- develop their English language and especially their listening skills
- find out and research interesting facts and information
- enjoy meeting and listening to the creator of the picturebook
Easy to follow action verbs such as ‘predict, act out, think, personalise’ make learning comprehensible and explicit.Children are encouraged to share their work with their classmates and teacher to make learning motivating and collaborative and to create a virtual community of learners.We hope children will enjoy and learn.
